He [Robert de Mortimer] married, in 1210, Margaret, widow of Hugh DEFERRIRES, and daughter and heir of Hugh DE SAY, by Mabel, daughter ofRobert MARMION. He died before 5 July 1219. Very shortly afterwardsMargaret married, 3rdly, William DE STUTEVILLE. She appears to have diedbefore the autumn of 1242. William de Stuteville died in or before May1259, holding various lands in right of Margaret his late wife (e).[Complete Peerage IX:258-61, (transcribed by Dave Utzinger)]
(e) He [William de Stuteville] must have had issue by Margaret because heheld the inheritance till his death. Probably the Robert, son of Williamde Stuteville, who had pardon, 20 Jun 1262, for the death of John Holleof Radnor, killed some time earlier in the March of Wales, was their son. This Robert was kept in prison by Henry de Montfort, the King's enemy, and sold for his ransom the manor of Withersfield, which the Kingrestored to him in Nov 1265. He was possibly taken when Hugh de Mortimer surrendered Richard's Castle to Montfort in 1264

ABIGAIL MESSENGER who married RICHARD DARLING. On April 11, 1662, Richard and his father-in-law, Andrew Messenger, contracted with the town of Jamaica to erect a minister's house. By 1675, this marriage may have ended in divorce, for on a Saturday, July 7, 1674, Abigail Messenger, the deserted wife of Richard Darling, requesting by petition an act of divorce and separation from said husband, with permission to remarry, on account that her husband, according to his own acknowledgment, had broken the marriage vows by committing adultery, and there upon had absconded etc. Ordered, petition postponed six months, within which time petitioner's husband is ordered to come and purge himself of said charge, or in default the petitioner will then be at liberty to prosecute her suit.
ABIGAIL MESSENGER DARLING married second, ZACHARIAH MILLS, brother of Susannah Mills who married Samuel Messenger.
