[25183]
U.S. President Franklin Pierce is a descendant.
There were five Parker brothers born in England; sons of John and Margery Parker. Jacob went from Charlestown to Woburn and thence to Chelmsford with his brothers. According to the town records, Jacob's daughter Sarah was the first child born in Chelmsford, the date being January 14, 1653.
He was a resident of Chelmsford in1652 and was involved, with the otherfour brothers, in the settlement of Chelmsford and Billerica.
Jacob was one of the early town clerks of Chelmsford. In a letter in the Middlesex Court files, Jacob Parker, town clerk ofChelmsford, addresses John Parker, town clerk of Billerica, as his "dearly beloved brother." He had nine children by wife Sarah and died in Malden in 1669. His widow presented inventory April 6, 1669. Nov. 5, 1713, Sarah Howard, Stephen Pierce and w. Tabitha, and EbenezerParker, all of Chelmsford, and John Flood (or Floyd) and w. Rachel;Thomas Wait and w. Mary, and Thomas Parker, all of Malden, and Rebecca Danforth of Billerica, sold to "our brother", Benjamin Parker of Chelmsford their rights in a meadow in Chelmsford, known as Robin Hill meadow, formerly the property of Jacob Parker of the town aforesaid.
The phraseology of this deed would seem to show that there was a second Ebenezer, but itis not believed that such is the case. The Thomas Parkerwho signed the deed was s. of Jacob(2), deceased, and it is safe to think that Ebenezer was s. of Thomas(2), deceased; in otherwords Jacob (2) and Thomas (2), being deceased, each was represented by his eldest s.
