[24771] The story of the Tylers starts in England and goes like this: That threebrothers came over to America and agreeing that when they came to landthey would split up and each explore a different area. Henry went toVirginia, Job to Massachusetts and the third to Conn. or Maryland. Inresearching early Tylers of America we have found a Robert Tyler, HenryTyler and Job Tyler. Robert is believed to be the brother of Henry but this has not yet beenproven. therefore, we put him as such until it is proven otherwise so wecan present his Tyler descendants. What is known about Robert is thefollowing: Robert came from England about 1640 - 1650 and settled in Anne ArundelCounty, Maryland. Robert was a Carpenter. An Anne Arundel County deedmentions 50 acres in Deep Creek taken up by a Robert Tyler on Nov 13,1666 where he became a planter. Robert bought and sold several grants ofland which remained in the Tyler family until 1866. In his will dated, Sep 11, 1673, Robert leaves to his wife Joan, 750acres on the west side of North Fork, also all goods, servants andcattle. and upon his son Robert, turning 21 yrs of age, She is to givepart of aforesaid land to the son. If all should die leaving no heirs, property is to go to poor orphans of Calvert Co. Maryland.
