He married, second, widow Elizabeth Perry, who possibly was the mother of Edward and Margaret Perry by her first marriage. She died Feb. 14, 1676 . Edmund came with his wife Elizabeth and four children, Alice, Edmund, Elizabeth and John, who were baptized in the Pulborough Church. Alice, bapt. Apr. 4, 1619; Edmund, bapt. Nov. 26, 1620; Elizabeth, bapt. Apr. 1624; John, bapt. Jan. 28, 1627.
Bennett Hodsoll was granddaughter of John Hodsoll of Stansted, Co. Kent, Eng., who had children: Robert, Henry, Joan and John. She was daughter of John Hodsoll, of Cowfold, Co. Sussex, Eng., who married Faith (Gratwick?). John's willof Aug. 1, 1617, proved Nov. 16, 1617, names "ffaith, his wife" and six children: John; Elizabeth; Anne; Bennett, b. a.1593, d. 1630, m. 1617, Edmund1 Freeman; Christian, and Katherine. Mary Warren b. England ca. 1610; d. Plymouth 27 March 1683 in her 73rd
yr. She m. aft. 22 May 1627, perhaps in 1629 Robert Bartlett; d. Plymouth
bet 19 Sept. 1676 (date of will) and 29 Oct. 1676 (date willproven);
perhaps the son of Robert and Alice (Barker) Bartlett.
On 1 July 1633, Mrs. Warren and Robt. Bartlet were to mow where they did
last year, implying a marriage to Mary by 1632 or earlier.
On 4 March 1673/4 Mary Bartlett the wife of Robert Bartlett owned she had
received full satisfaction for her share of the estate of Mistris
Elizabeth Warren Deceased.
On 6 March 1676 Letters of admin. were granted unto Mary Bartlett and
Joseph Bartlett to administer the estate of Robert Bartlett, dec.
On 13 Feb. 1677, ack. same day, Mary Bartlett widow of Robert Bartlett
sold all the estate to her son Joseph Bartlett.
Richard Warren Of the Mayflower, and Some of His Descendants, by Mrs.
Washington A. Roebling, 1901,NEHGR Vol 55, pg 72:
Mary Warren was b. in England, and accompanied her mother to New England
in the ship "Ann" arriving at Plymouth in July, 1623. She m. in 1628,
Robert Bartlett, a fellow passenger on the "Ann", and they became the
ancestors of the well-known Bartlett family of Plymouth Colony. Mr.
Bartlett died in 1676, aged seventy-three, and his wife survived a few
years.
