Thought to be Mary Magdalene Winslow*, daughter of Edward Winslow Ist, &
sister of Governor Edw. Winslow II.
The "Mayflower" Winslows--Yeomen or Gentlemen? by John G. Hunt, NEHGR,
1967, Vol. 121, pg 25, 26:
Kenelm Winslow, was surely a yeoman, as proved by the text of his last
will, dated and proved at Worcesterin 1607.
Of Droitwich in the same country, his son, salt extractor Edward
Winslow, by his wife Magdalene Olyver, had five sons who were early
settlers of New England. Of these, the eldest was Edward, 1595-1659,
sometime governorof Plymouth Colony. The youngest daughter was
"Magdalene," 1604-1695, who stayed in England and whose grandson, William
Wake, 1657-1737, became Archbishop of Canterbury in 1716.

Will of Mary Worden, widow of Yarmouth: "That there may be no differance
amongst my Children . . . my sdChildren also having manifested their
willingnes and Consent unto me to dispose or bequeath what should be
leift of my worldly goods or estate at my decease as I Should se cause as
pr Articles of agreement in writing Indented bearing date the Second of
may Anno Dom 1681 doeth and may appeare I . . . declare this . . . my
last will." All wearing apparell to be equally divided between her three
daughters Mary Burge, Mercy Winslow and Martha Seaverns; the restof the
estate, after debts are paid, to son-in-law John Burge; "excepting my
Indian squaw servant which I will and bequeath to my Son Samuel Worden."
Executor, John Burge. Will dated, 6 March, 1686, signed by her mark;
proved 31May, 1687, Witnesses, Samuel Sears, Silas Sears and Gob. Thomas
Hinkley. Recorded 8 June, 1687, by Joseph Lothrop, Deputy Register.

1. Gov. Edward Winslow's parent's, Edward and Magdalen (Oliver) Winslow
of Droitwich, England had a dau. Magdalen b. Dec. 26, bapt. Dec 30, 1604,
In Droitwich, Worcestershire, England. (see Genealogical Memoir of the
Desc. of Edward Winslow, Gov. of Plym. Colony, NEHGR, 1850, Vol. 4, pg
297)
2. In "The Mayflower Winslows--Yeomen or Gentlemen?", NEHGR Vol.121, pg
25-26" Says that Edward Winslow Sr.'s youngest dau. Magdelen, 1604-1693
stayed in England and died in 1693.
3. Mary, wife of Peter Worden, diedin Yarmouth, MA. 25 March 1687.
4. I did have Magdalen Winslow, dau. of Edw.and his wife Magdalen
(Oliver) Winslow as an ancestor.
But in light of all the above, I have deleted her and her ancestry,
but have kept it in the form of a genealogy report, in case it
might possibly prove true that thisMary was indeed a dau. of Edw. &
Magdalen in the future.
