Dorothy A. VanSteenburg, of Belleair, went to be with her Lord on April 15, 2020. She was born January 15, 1921 in Louisville, Kentucky to Alice (Thompson) and Fred Alverson, who preceded her to heaven.
Dorothy graduated Asbury College with a degree in education and began her career as an elementary and middle school teacher, having taught for 39 years before retiring. Her love of her family and friends was demonstrated repeatedly as she entertained and served others. She was an active and faithful member of her church. She loved and served her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ faithfully and humbly wherever she went. She was a woman of prayer, a true prayer warrior, the gracious example of a Proverbs 31 woman.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Rev. Robert L. VanSteenburg; her son, James and her daughter, Patrice(Patty). Dorothy is survived by her daughter-in-law, Esther VanSteenburg; grandson, James and his wife Samantha Mitchell VanSteenburg; granddaughter, Sherry and her husband Myron Speigle; 6 great-grandchildren: Michael, Nicholas, Erica, Kobus, Kai and Koen; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Pauline Alverson; and extended family whom she dearly loved and many nieces and nephews who were so important to her.
In lieu of flowers, she would be honored by memorial donations to Calvary Church Seminole x150 Advance Missions or Suncoast Hospice.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

He [Ralph de Toeni] m., between November 1232 and 1234, Pernel, daughter of Walter DE LACY (elder brother of Hugh, Earl of Ulster), presumably byhis wife Margaret, daughter of William DE BRIOUZE. He died about Michaelmas 1239 at sea. His widow, who was granted the custody of MaudCastle, 1247-20 June 1251 married, before 15 October 1256, Willian DE ST.OMER, and was living, 25 November 1288.
